About the Fellow
Sanchez is a current Master (Public Health) and PhD (Integrative Biosciences) student at Tuskegee University. His research focuses on serving underserved communities regarding environmental public health challenges in their pursuit to access quality water.
As a student he has also been instrumental in conducting research ranging from in vitro fertilization utilizing bovine ovaries to anti microbial discovery. Having completed over thousands of community service hours, Sanchez has a firm belief that bridging the gap between communities and decision makers is essential in sustainable projects. He has served as a University Ambassador, Residential Advisor and Senator for the University’s College of Agriculture, Environment and Nutrition Sciences. Sanchez was selected as an Environmental Program Fellow through the University of Michigan School for Environment and Sustainability and Yale School of the Environment. During this time he worked diligently with grassroots organizations through laboratory efforts and community engagement to mitigate lead in water throughout Flint Michigan.
