Trevor Rife is an Assistant Research Professor at Kansas State University and serves as the the Director of the Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Applied Wheat Genomics. Rife co-leads the Phenomics component of the Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Crop Improvement.
Rife’s research group is focused on improving data collection and management by developing mobile apps and workflows that can be readily integrated into diverse breeding programs. These apps are used by thousands of breeders across the world and have substantially increased the efficiency of phenotypic data collection. By extending the digital data ecosystem to all components of plant breeding, this work is directly contributing to the development of the improved cultivars that are necessary to sustain the growing global population.
