About the Fellow

Tekiyah Brewley is a graduate student at Tuskegee University pursuing a Master’s degree in animal and veterinary sciences. Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, Tekiyah developed a love for science and animals at an early age. Because of this, she went on to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal and Veterinary Sciences from the illustrious Tuskegee University.

Tekiyah has a background in emergency medicine, working previously as an emergency veterinary technician, and is currently working on developing her thesis research that includes Boer and Kiko bucks at Tuskegee University.

With her passion and love for science and animals, after receiving her master’s degree, Tekiyah plans on becoming an animal geneticist. Tekiyah believes that the TW Turner Fellowship will help her reach that goal. She is excited to be a part of the inaugural class of the TW Turner fellowship and plans to represent her university well.
